APPLE CLASS: Pruning, Grafting and Organic Methods

Registration:  $35 plus $15  fee for grafting materials
Free Soup lunch available, of if you prefer, bring your own food.

Learn the seasonal turning points in growing and caring for organic apple trees, along with hands-on skill-building  pruning apple trees and grafting new trees. You can take home your newly grafted trees.  Instructors: Jim Birkholz  (Pleasant Valley Orchard),  Eric Gustafson (Branch Nursery), Jacquelyn Zita (Amador Hill Orchard, WEI).

Intern Option: Become a WEI apple intern starting with this class, followed by more training in pruning, planting new trees, pest management, scab management, nutrient care, harvesting and grading, orchard clean up and winter care.  These opportunities will be arranged with direct mentorship days  for apple interns during the roll-out of the 2017 season. These volunteer internships are not paid, but  this opportunity is of great value for all.
