                                         A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF BEES

We have rescheduled the beginning of WEI’s new Bee Keeping Training  New Start Date: March 26. 
First Class SUNDAY March 26 (1:00-4:00):  Introduction to  Beekeeping and Bee Hive Box Building. 
                   Hands-on:  bring hammers, paintbrushes and your creativity.
Where: WEI Amador Hill Farm and Orchard 15715 River Road, North Branch, MN 55056.                 
Duration:  Entire series of classes, March through November  (mostly 4th Sunday of the month, 1:00-4:00)
Instructor:  Mike Mackiewicz
NINE MONTH TRAINING COURSE  IS FULL.  You can register for individual classes only.  
First class March 26 and eight more training classes usually scheduled on the 4th Sunday of the month. 
Registration deadline March 22.

Nine Month Training Program (total of 9 classes)
Learn the details and seasonal steps for beekeeping from building your hives to harvesting honey and making mead. This year WEI is offering an exciting and comprehensive beekeeping class which consists of 9 classes that usually  meet every 4th Sunday of the month at the WEI Amador Hill Farm and Orchard.  The class will be taught by Mike Mackiewicz -Head Beekeeper from Scandia’s Bone Lake Meadows Apiary. If you ever wanted to learn the science and art of beekeeping,take this class — you will find it thorough, affordable, and a user-friendly hands-on and personal one-on-one learning experience
at the hives and for an entire season.

April 23:  Setting up Hives and Installing  Bees/ Splitting Second-Year Hives
May 21:    Hive Day/Planning Flower Power for Pollinators
June 25:  Hive Day/ Assessing Honey in the Hives
July 23:   Hive Day/Mite Controls
Aug 27:    Extracting Honey
Sept.24:   Making Mead
Oct. 22:    Winterizing the Hives
Nov. 19:   A WEI Swarm Party:  Everything  Honey

All dates assume good weather and will be rescheduled if there is rain. 
Class size will be limited to 10 students.
