Welcome to Dianne’s Country Kitchen. Canning tomatoes and making salsais the third in WEI’s four-part series on food preservation, an important component of sustainability and caring for your health.

Full Course Description:

In this class, we will discuss general preservation procedures, safety guidelines and regulations for canning tomatoes and making salsa. Hands-on we will be canning whole tomatoes, making tomato sauce and canning salsa.  Be sure to bring a box to carry your hot jars home. Dream about putting all your garden tomatoes into winter soups and hot dishes.  Dianne is a perfect teacher to teach you how to can with confidence.

Instructor Bio:Dianne Patras is a Chisago County Master Gardener and University of Minnesota Food Preservationist volunteer and educator. She brings a cross-generational approach to the art of ‘putting up’ food, an important component of sustainable living.
