Celebrate Spring by planting APPLE TREES and enjoying the taste of NEPAL in Minnesota
We are combining our Annual Open House with our ANNUAL APPLE TREE PLANTING DAY
WHERE: Amador Hill Farm and Orchard, 15715 River Road, North Branch, MN 55056
WHEN: SATURDAY, MAY 5, 9:00-4:00
THE TASK on Hand: We still need to plant apple trees in the Amador HIll Orchard. The April snow cut our task into this late May date. We will combine our arduous labor with great food.
Morning: Planting Apple Trees (we will go out in teams starting at 9:00 a.m. )
12:00 – 2:00 Celebrate a Little of Nepal in Minnesota at AMADOR HILL FARM
Come and meet Ishwari Rajak to celebrate the spring ritual “basanta ritu” on Amador HIll Farm. We will send the farmers off to the field, send the helpers out to plant
the apple trees, enjoy Nepali music, taste and enjoyment of a free cooking demo with Ishwari Rajak. After planting trees, enjoy some of Ishwari’s cooking.
Learn how her food has a Napoli history of struggle and identity. We welcome the gifts of Ishwari to our cooking class faculty.
Taste the Demo: One pot chicken soup, puri and aaloo dum and Nepali dumplings “momos”
Afternoon: Second Planting Team for Apple Trees
4:30 Wine Tasting at our local Wild Mountain Winery just down the road. Cash bar
WE ARE SO THANKFUL FOR THE ARRIVAL OF SPRING. Please do RSVP to we-e-i.org — it’s helpful to know who is coming.
